Of glacial origin, it is enclosed by mountain ranges of the Andes, on all sides except the west, where the town of Panguipulli lies in the Central Valley. The lake is drained by the Enco River that flows south to Ri\u00f1ihue Lake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">You will continue South East heading to Los Lagos. The sister town of Ranco is opposite the lake, and both towns rest within the base of the Andes Mountains in the Region of Rivers of Chile. Futrono\u2019s local ancestral culture is a mixture of Mapuches-Huilliches, whom still live in the commune to this day. \u201cHuilliche\u201d means \u201cSouthern people\u201d in Mapundungun (the language of the Mapuche people). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">The Huilliche people were experts in foraging, hunting, fishing and animal husbandry.
